It was the best of times...

So, I'm on my first day here in NYC and decided to look at my weather tracker to see how great days of sunshine and great weather I was going to have from now until Wednesday..... well, at least we'll have weather here for a few days.

work and chirs brown

Soooooo, today i've got a reeeeeeally long day ahead of me. we have our community fundraiser tomorrow (for the GP (my job(the non-profit i work for))) and we've got to get this HUGE convention center room set up today. Should be fun, buuuuuuut it's prob gunna be kinda long. if i didn't really like the people i worked with it's make for a long day...... but since i do, i guess things'll be aight.

so, on to more pressing matters. the grammy awards last night. did you see chris brown and his cluthc performance last nigh? it was probibly the most entertaining part of the night! not to say that the rest wasn't, but his set was that good. fo real, the kid's only 17 years old.... what the crap! =) but, the best part by far was when he had those two 10 yr old kids jump up on stage and bust-a-move...... UN-B-FREAKIN-LIEVABLE!!

Comments retracted???

some have commented about the lacK of comments on my blog and then immEdiately removed their onLy comment from my bLog. somehow thIs action seems in a round about way somewhat ironic. the lacK of comments was noted and then Immediately recanTed, once again leaving a void of commEnts within the blog.

i haven't really posted anything recently, and the only chance my blog had at any new material was strangely blotted out as someone, who for now will remain UNNAMED, decided to retract thier only comment on my blog....

settlin' in

so, it's been a little while since i've blogged, but hopefully, i'll start getting into the swing of things here.

well, This past week has been pretty good/crazy. corey (my room mate) and i have been in our apartment for about a week now and are getting pretty well settled in (i'll post pics of our house in the near future). @ work i've been working on this leaders' packet for our small groups for about a week and am sooooo glad that it's finished; we knew I'd be a little bit of work to get it done, but we had NO clue how long it would take to basically re-do it. Not to mention the how fun it would be fix to a number of pages with typos (how do you spell that...) on them........ >: (

well, the notebooks are done and i've gotten back around to getting 707s (our small groups here at the gathering place) organized; i am really looking forward to working with my senior group of guys. there are a lot of them a real sharp who have a heart to learn in my group; they seem to be mature and love Jesus, so i think it's gunna work out real well.

this is an audio post - click to play

Here goes nothin'.....

so i've never posted a blog before, so we'll see how this little diddy goes. i'll try and make them short so you'll actually read it and not trail off (cuz honestly, if it's longer than a solid paragraph, I tend to either stop reading or not start all together....sorry =)

i just moved to st simons in may and have been working at the gathering place (a parachurch ministry in the area; see more: www.thegp.org) since then. I'm on full time staff now, which means I've stick around after the summer college interns have left and am figuring out what real ministry looks like year round.

It's kinda daunting and kinda exciting at the same time, not knowing what to do and figuring it out on the spot; I'm learning about my self and how i work (outside of college) and trying to figure out the bigger picture and to what end (vocationally) God might be calling me.

so far it seems like i may be leaning toward doing urban ministry in some facit or something with social justice; how that looks or what it really means is beyond me, but i hope to figure out why God's put this on my heart and how i am to move next. thanks for reading and we'll see how this whole blog thing goes long term.
